Intergenerational Community Connector

Join Generations Working Together (GWT) as we work towards a Scotland where generations are more connected. If you would like to get involved in intergenerational work, learn more about the practice, and help strengthen community connections, this could be the perfect volunteer role for you!

As an Intergenerational Community Connector, you’ll get the chance to:

• Help one of our development team members plan and run 2–3 local network meetings each year.
• Spread the word about the benefits of intergenerational work within your community.
• Share and promote GWT events, meetings, publications, and training opportunities.
• Connect with local groups and encourage them to showcase their intergenerational projects through the network and GWT.


Experience required

• An interest in bringing different generations together
• Strong communication skills
• Good organisational abilities
• Confidence in building relationships with community groups
• Enthusiasm for community involvement and connection

Travel details

Community Connectors volunteer within their geographical network.
Connectors can also attend the annual Scottish conference and other local events such as Learning Roadshows.

Travel expenses

45p per mile.
Reimbursed monthly.

Support
Training details

• Induction of the role and one to one support from a GWT member.
• Free CPD accredited training, giving you the skills to support intergenerational work in your own community.

2-3 hours per month. Opportunity does not take place during the school holidays. To stay with GWT for at least 12 months

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
