Turn Small Change into Big Change – and Help Shape the Future of Children’s Hospice Care
This is a truly exciting time to join CHAS. We’re launching a £20.4 million appeal -the most ambitious transformation since Rachel House opened 30 years ago. This is about more than bricks and beds. It’s about creating a future where every family has real choice and unwavering care.
As a Collecting Can Volunteer, you’ll place and collect CHAS fundraising cans in local shops, cafes, and pubs - turning spare change into life-changing support. Every pound you collect will help rebuild Rachel House, renew Robin House, and reimagine care across Scotland through CHAS at Home and hospital partnerships.
What you will be doing
- Identifying suitable locations for collecting cans to be placed
- Placing collecting cans
- Servicing collecting cans (this involves checking that cans are clearly labelled, numbered and sealed).
- Emptying cans and counting the money
- Banking the money
- Keeping a record of all outgoing cans
