Help Turn Donations into Impact
CHAS will be launching its most ambitious appeal ever - a bold £20.4 million campaign to revolutionise children’s hospice care across Scotland. Every penny counts, and we need your help to make sure donations are processed quickly and securely so they can go straight towards transforming care for families.
As a Counting and Banking Volunteer, you’ll be part of a dedicated team ensuring that cash collected during fundraising activities and from collecting cans is counted accurately and banked promptly. This is a flexible, ad hoc role based at our office in Kinross, perfect for someone who enjoys detail, organisation, and making a tangible difference behind the scenes.
What Will You Do?
- Count and record cash donations from collecting cans and fundraising events
- Prepare banking deposits and ensure accurate documentation
- Work with CHAS staff to follow cash handling and security procedures
- Support with occasional admin tasks related to collections and banking

Who Can Apply?
Anyone aged 18+ who is reliable, trustworthy, and confident handling cash. You don’t need previous finance experience - just good numeracy skills and attention to detail.
Whether you’re retired, working part-time, or looking for a flexible way to give back, we’ll provide full training and support.
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and can make adjustments to help you get involved.
What ongoing learning/support/guidance will I receive?
We’ll provide full training on cash handling, banking procedures, and security protocols. You’ll also have ongoing support from the CHAS team and will be invited to complete a short core learning package that is tailored to your role.

Travel expenses
We will pay your out of pocket expenses in line with the CHAS volunteer expenses policy.
Restrictions
Minimum age: 18
Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
