Help Welcome Commonwealth Games visitors to Victoria Park

Victoria Park Community Trust in the West End of Glasgow is a long-established member-based charity aiming to

protect the history and heritage of the park
develop ideas for physical improvements to the park
implement projects that enhance the biodiversity and ecology
promote and organise events and healthy outdoor activities for the local people
encourage greater use of the park by all sections of the community particularly the local schools

We work with volunteers on sustainable planting, food growing and hard landscaping to maintain a healthy thriving park for the local community to enjoy.

In 2026 we want to showcase the best of the park as part of the Commonwealth Games celebrations.  With Scotstoun Stadium where all the athletics takes place virtually on the doorstep, we expect to welcome many visitors from across the world.

So please volunteer to help us with our never-ending list of outstanding tasks from planting, to weeding, path clearing and sometimes project specific work such as creating paths or revitalising neglected parts of the park.

We can accommodate up to 10 to 12 volunteers & can provide tools for this number but if you had your own (fork, spade or shovel) we could accommodate up to 15.

We suggest a minimum donation of £250, rising to £400 for a larger group. The donation will be used to meet our running costs.

By volunteering you’d be helping us enhance the park for our many users whilst working with your colleagues in a different way – perhaps meeting new colleagues and according to other corporate teams that have helped us in the past, having fun.

If you're interested, please click the ‘apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the coordinator by email or phone call. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the organisation with the contact details provided. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow on info@volunteerglasgow.org.
