NHSGGC Mental Health Services NE/SW
- VO104753
Stobhill Hospital's Physiotherapy department are keen to support the recovery of our adult in-patients by offering short weekly beginner's tennis sessions to increase access to meaningful physical activity, improve mood, reduce isolation, and enhance the in-patient hospital experience.
Volunteers will deliver sessions in conjunction with Physiotherpay staff and will have the opportunity to develop thier skills in volunteering alongside vulnerable people whilst receiving feedback and participating in mood measurement before and after sessions - this will allow you to see that you are making a tangible difference for the people that you are placed with on a session-to-session basis.
If you are interested please click the ‘apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by email or phone call. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the organization with the contact details provided. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow at info@volunteerglasgow.org
Experience required
Volunteers must understand that the goal for sessions is to focus on wellbeing, rather than physical activity. This is a real opportunity to hone your skills and understanding around physical health, mental health, and the associated co-morbidities, and in adapting your sessions to meet the needs of participants who may have difficulties with focus/mobility.
