Scottish Wildlife Trust
- VO104752
Join Scottish Wildlife Trust for weekly volunteer sessions run across our four Cumbernauld Wildlife Reserves: Cumbernauld Glen, Seafar Woods, Forest Wood, and Luggiebank Wood.
We will be carrying out a variety of activities to help improve habitats for wildlife and the local community. Tasks will include tree maintenance, footpath repairs, fencing, garden escapees and invasive non-native species control, meadow management and litter picking.
No experience is required, just a willingness to get involved! Tasks vary regularly to suit different abilities, though some activities may require a basic level of physical fitness.
Volunteer sessions will last around four hours. Registered volunteers will be emailed with session details prior to the event, including details about the activity, meeting point, and any requirements for the day. We’re grateful for any time you’re able to dedicate to volunteer, whether that’s weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
If you’d like to find out more before signing up, please email our Natural Heritage Officer James on jrobinson@scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk or call 07920 468 567.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept under 18s for this volunteer opportunity.
These sessions are run as part on the Nurturing Natural Connections Project, part of the Cumbernauld Living Landscape initiative. A partnership project aiming to create landscape-scale improvements to the greenspaces of Cumbernauld, creating a more diverse and sustainable environment for the benefit of wildlife and the local community. The project is made possible thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund and run in partnership with the Scottish Wildlife Trust, North Lanarkshire Council, The Conservation Volunteers and Sancturary Scotland.
