COVEY Befriending
- VO104757
For pupils experiencing poverty or finding it hard to go to school, making the transition from primary to secondary school can be particularly challenging. COVEY’s Flourishing Families project works with partner schools to make this time of change easier.
Offering both one-to-one and group support, we help our young people develop their confidence, resilience and friendships, equipping them with skills and a sense of belonging. This project also offers targeted support for some young people as they continue through secondary school.
A Flourishing Families volunteer is someone who supports pupils within our Flourishing Families Project, run by COVEY. This can be on a one-to-one basis, or within a group. Volunteers spend 2-3 hours a week, developing trusting relationships with the young people/person through engaging and fun activities that respond to the needs and interests of those supported. Within this role, our volunteers are supported by a COVEY team member.
