Primary School Volunteer

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP) warmly welcomes people aged 50+ who would like to share their time, skills and life experience by volunteering in their local communities. Across Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire, we support hundreds of volunteers through a range of rewarding projects, including volunteering in local hospitals and primary schools, charitable knitting groups, a friendly walking group for older people, and our community Handyperson Service.

We are currently inviting new volunteers who would enjoy getting involved in primary schools within the Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Council areas.

Volunteering with RSVP is designed to fit around you. Hours are fully flexible, and we’ll work with your availability to find a role that suits your lifestyle. If you enjoy working with others and would like to make a positive difference in your community, we would love to hear from you.

Our volunteers support primary schools in a variety of meaningful ways, such as working one-to-one with pupils or supporting small groups in the classroom. This may include helping children to build confidence, develop social skills, enjoy reading and numbers, or take part in arts, crafts and music activities. Simply being a positive older role model can make a real difference to a child’s learning and wellbeing.

All activities are agreed between you and the school, ensuring your role is enjoyable, comfortable and rewarding. Full support is provided throughout your volunteering journey.
