Foodbank Assistant - Burntisland

Burntisland and Kinghorn Foodbank provides much needed support in the community, providing food parcels to individuals in need. Food parcels are distributed twice per week from the Salvation Army Hall in Burntisland, on a Tuesday and a Friday from 12 – 2pm.

Would you like to be involved in delivering this essential service within the local community?

Foodbank Assistants are required to set up the room, meet clients to take details, give out food parcels and other items and tidy up at the end of the session. Volunteers will also refer on to agencies that may help clients, and signpost offers available within the community.


If you would like to support your local community this may be the role for you.


Experience required

The individual must be able to work compassionately with members of the public who come for support and food. Being friendly and open are the most important things, you will get training on the job.

Travel details

The role takes place at the Salvation Army Hall, 40 Lonsdale Crescent, Burntisland.

Travel expenses

If miles are accrued as part of the volunteering responsibilities they can be claimed – rate to be discussed.

Support
Training details

You will be on with experienced members of staff who will help with induction and initial training. There is support available if you need it at all times and if you need further training that can be discussed.
