Intergenerational Community Connector

Join GWT as we work towards a Scotland where generations are more connected. If you would like to get involved in intergenerational work, learn more about the practice and help strengthen community connections across East Renfrewshire, this could be the perfect volunteer role for you!

Main responsibilities:


  • Help one of our development team members plan and run 2–3 local network meetings each year

  • Spread the word about the benefits of intergenerational work within your community

  • Share and promote GWT events, meetings, publications and training opportunities

  • Connect with local groups and encourage them to showcase their intergenerational projects through the network and GWT


Key skills:



  • An interest in bringing different generations together

  • Strong communication skills

  • Good organisational abilities

  • Confidence in building relationships with community groups

  • Enthusiasm for community involvement and connection

  • Free CPD accredited training, giving you the skills to support intergenerational work in your own community

Volunteer commitment:



  • 2-3 hours per month (excluding school holidays)

Restrictions

Minimum age: 18

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
