Community Garden Assistant

CLEAR offers opportunities to volunteer in its two community gardens (Buckhaven and Methil). These sessions run on both Wednesdays & Thursdays from 10am -3.00pm, volunteers are provided tea and coffee at both the morning and the afternoon sessions. A healthy lunch is also provided for all volunteers.

This role is outdoors (though there is shelter if the weather turns) and involves some physical exercise.

The range of tasks is seasonal, and includes:

  • planting seed in seed trays, potting up, planting, watering, pruning, composting, harvesting, weeding and grass/hedge cutting. This opportunity is interesting and varied, changes over the seasons and supports both physical and mental health.

Experience required

Gardening experience would be helpful but not essential as training can be provided on site. A positive attitude and good sense of humor help when doing outdoor activities in all seasons. A variety of team working and using initiative makes this role very interesting and rewarding.

No essential skills or experience required, just an interest and willingness to improve your local neighbourhood.
