Burntisland and Kinghorn Foodbank

Burntisland and Kinghorn Foodbank provides much needed support in the community, providing food parcels to individuals in need. Food parcels will soon be distributed once per week from Kinghorn Community Centre on a Saturday from 10 – 12.
Would you like to be involved in delivering this essential service within the local community?
Foodbank Assistants are required to set up the room, meet clients to take details, give out food parcels and other items and tidy up at the end of the session. Volunteers will also refer on to agencies that may help clients, and signpost offers available within the community.
If you would like to support your local community this may be the role for you.
Experience required
The individual must be able to work compassionately with members of the public who come for support and food. Being friendly and open are the most important things, you will get training on the job.
Travel details
The role takes place at Kinghorn Community Centre, Rossland Place, Burntisland.
Travel expenses
Travel expenses can be reimbursed if mileage accrued as part of duties, rate to be discussed
Restrictions
Minimum age: 16
Availability
Volunteers (aged 16-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
